furniture sale saturdays12:44:00 PM
Last Saturday, Conrad and I went to our friend Katie's furniture sale to check out her goods. Katie is an amazing DIY-er and specializes in reupholstering/refinishing old furniture into beautiful, practical pieces. This was her first sidewalk sale, and we wanted to show her our support.
Tobias did too.
How AWESOME is this 1970s wood-burning stove? I want to buy a house just to have this in it.
The weather changed from drizzly and grey to gorgeous and sunny, and I thought it would be fun to take a couple of snaps of her work to show on the blog since a lot of my readers are local. Katie doesn't have a website yet - she has an etsy shop - but make sure to read until the end of the post to get her contact info (she does custom orders!).
Most of her pieces are thrift-store finds that are left abandoned and ugly, and Katie fixes them up to be useful and beautiful again. The ultimate in recycling! I especially loved this record player/credenza that she painted.
Saturday morning coffees, a must.
Brown Dog, supporting his mama!^^
(so in love with the arrow handles on this mint cupboard!)
Of course, since Conrad's and my apartment is MINISCULE, this was absolute torture for me since I wanted to snap up everything on display. Luckily (or unluckily?) we are moving to a bigger place in January so will have some room for some of Katie's creations, and I already have a list of items I already own that I want her to spruce up.
By the end of the day, Katie had sold several items and given out a ton of business cards! I'm always so happy to see my friends pursuing their creative dreams. It's a really scary thing to do, and I couldn't be prouder of Katie on her first sidewalk sale. See her info below!
