pumpkin patchin'

6:23:00 PM

Last weekend, we went to the pumpkin patch!

Saturday afternoon, we joined Conrad's sister Adrienne and her kiddo Max on a little trip to Bartel's Farm, just north of town.

Haley, who is currently recovering from a ruptured cyst (ewww), was there. too. Max made sure to keep a special watch over her.

Once at the farm, we got right to work.

Well, some of us did.

Bartel's farm has been owned by the same family for over 100 years, and it's a wonderful destination for a fun, fall-filled day. The farm boasts a petting zoo, a sprawling pumpkin patch, a corn maze, and various local food booths, as well as several different playgrounds and a rotating tractor ride around the grounds. We headed straight for the animals.

After we'd gotten enough of the pigs, chickens, and goats, we set out for the patch in search for the perfect pumpkin.

Within minutes, we were completely immersed and totally lost.

We put Conrad in charge of pulling the cart, Max and Adrienne in charge of finding pumpkins, and I, of course, was in charge of photos. Haley was in charge of getting better.

After we'd had enough, we headed back to civilization, pumpkins in tow!

We paid for our loot ($25 for seven pumpkins!) and looked around at all the other things on offer.

I'm the woooorst, haha.

It was a gorgeous day, so I took advantage and snapped as many pics as possible.

Finally, as Max began to get tired, we loaded our pumpkins into the car and headed home. After saying goodbye to Max, Adrienne, and Haley, we did some mid-October grilling for dinner (what is with this weather?), followed by a scary movie marathon and ice cream. A perfect Saturday, in my opinion!
If you're in the area and looking for a great weekend activity, I highly reccommend a trip to the Bartel's farm. Just make sure to go early before the crowds appear!

Hope your weekend was great xx
